New Hampshire Business Web's FAQs
Here, we will list some of the Frequently Asked Questions from my customers and some from general email we get along with (hopefully) the answers. If you have a question about business on the web or a general type of question, please feel free to e-mail us and we will try (no promises) to answer them as we have the time.
Q1. Why does the old photo still show up after the new photo has been placed on the web site?
Ans. Your browser downloads both the web site code and the images to your pc in an area called cache in Netscape and temporary files in Internet Explorer. When you revisit the web site, your browser does not download the web page again but instead checks to see if there are any changes from the last time you visited. If the new photo and the old photo have the same name then the browser assumes there are no changes in the photo and thus displays the old photo. Most browsers will download the new photo if you press the reload/refresh button. If the straight reload does not work try the Shift key reload combination (hold the shift key down while clicking on the reload button). If this fails then you must go to the preferences section of your browser and tell it to empty the cache. You might also ensure at that time you browser's cache is compared atleast once per session.
Q1. Downloading your website is taking too long
Ans.There can be a number of problems here. Since there may be many connections your request must go through starting from your Internet Service Provider and ending up at our Web Server. First - our Web Server may be down but not that often as our server is up 99.9% of the time. The connection can go through 1 to 10 or 20 different Internet Backbones being routed from one place to another if any of the routers are down, your request may be redirected. This can cause a major delay. Within one ISP, there may be 4 or 5 paths the connection must take just to reach their connection to their backbone and if one of them is down, you may not be able to get to a specific backbone while you are still able to get to another backbone. Try again in an hour. If the web site is down for more than a couple of hours, their may just be a problem with the web site or web server.
